Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 58 – The finishing line

Hello everyone

Holland 0 – 1 Spain means this little marathon of mine is over at last.

My best daily performance was on 8th June when I managed 21.93 Km, or 13.62 Miles in the 24 hours.

That means that Barbara from Fife in Scotland is the winner of the competition with her guess of 13 Miles. Well done Barbara !!

Other stats from my 58 days of running are :

Average distance per day over the 58 days

11.27 Km, or 7.00 Miles

Shortest distance run in a day

1.41 Km, or 0.87 Miles, after I hurt my leg the first time.

Number of days that I ran over my average distance

31

Total number of revolutions on my wheel

Just over 1.5 Million !

I’m going to take a few days off now to have a little rest, and then I’ll be back with another competition and another Marathon.

See you soon… stay safe !

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 54 – Holland or Spain ?

Hello all !

Well we now know that the World Cup Final will be between The Netherlands and Spain. Well done to both of them !

That, of course, means that there are only four days left for you to enter this version of my little competition; so if you haven’t had a go yet, come on… play along, and help Fife Headway at the same time !

Once the World Cup Final is over Daddy will check the entries and will be announcing the winner on here, so tune in from about an hour after it is all finished to find out who has made the closest guess.

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 48 – Download your own Fliers

Hello people. :)

Phew, it was hot yesterday so I only managed about half my normal distance, but it was a bit cooler today so I’m back to normal now. :)

Daddy has made up some Fliers to help advertise my marathon. :)

Just click on the Downloadable Fliers link in Column 4 and you can have a look at them. If you want to help to spread the word about me even more why not ask for some and pin some up in your office, gym, local club, community centre, health centre, pub… or wherever. The choice is endless.

Thank you Daddy.

Mummy says I’m putting on weight again  , so I suppose I’d better go back to my wheel for a bit before she gets up.

Take care everybody, and stay safe. :)

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 47 – What a surprise presentation

Hello everybody :)

Well everybody at Fife Headway got a surprise at their meeting last night

As arranged, the guys from the Dalgety Bay Round Table turned up to make the official presentation of the cheque for all the money they had raised from the Edinburgh Marathon. It was really good for the members to get the chance to meet them all and to show their appreciation.

The surprise was the amount of the cheque…. £5,000 !!

That is incredible guys ! Well done, and thank you so much.

Daddy was going to update the Fife Headway website with all the news and pictures when he got home, but when he left the meeting he found his car had a puncture so by the time he got home it was a bit too late. Oh, poor Daddy.

Stay safe everybody, I’m going to run a few more miles to celebrate how well the fund raising is going.

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 44 – Only two weeks to go

Hello everyone :)

Only two weeks to go now until the World Cup Final, so only 14 more days of running for me on this marathon. :)

I have been feeling a little tired for the past few days so haven’t been running quite as far as normal, but I have covered 330 miles (530 Km) since the start… that’s an average of 7.32 Miles (11.78 Km) per day.

I think that’s quite good for a little hamster like me. :)

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 40 – This marathon thing is catching

Hello everybody.

It seems I’m not the only one who likes marathons.

While I was running on my wheel earlier Daddy was watching some people playing tennis on TV, and they have broken the record for the longest tennis match in history.

Nicholas Mahut from France and John Isner from the USA have been playing for 10 hours so far at Wimbledon… and it hasn’t finished yet !

The overnight score is an incredible…

Mahut 4 6 7 6 59
Isner 6 3 6 7 59

Daddy was so engrossed in it that he completely forgot about the World Cup… Haha

I know what this marathon thing is like, I clocked up my 300th Mile last night, so I can honestly say “Well done !“.

Have you got any stories of marathon exploits that you want to share with people ? If so, why not leave a comment on here about them ?

I hope Nicholas and John can recover well overnight before they carry on their battle tomorrow.

Stay safe, everybody.

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 38 – Fame at last ! (Courtesy of “Doctor Who”)

Hello everybody

Daddy likes watching a TV program called Doctor Who, and he tells me that even The Doctor is following my progress !

At the start of last night’s episode, The Pandorica Opens, the Doctor and Amy went to see “the very first words in recorded history“.

I couldn’t believe it when Daddy told me what they were !….

Click on the picture to see it full size.

Ha Ha ! … So now everybody knows about me !

I wish I could have seen it for myself.

Now if all you Doctor Who followers were to enter my competition and make a contribution to Fife Headway it would really help to boost the funds.

Stay safe everybody, especially you, Doctor !

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 37 – Trying to ignore the humans

Hello friends

Oh, it has been so hot here in Nanning this week that Mummy took my cage into the living room where there is air conditioning to keep me nice and cool. Thank you Mummy.

The only problem with that is that I am a shy little hamster, and I get scared when there are lots of humans around.

Sweetie’s Marathon – Day 34 – Daddy explains the World Cup to me

Hello everybody.

Because Daddy is so excited that the World Cup has finally started I asked him how his team was getting on.

He said that he is supporting England but that they hadn’t done too well in their first game, a 1-1 draw with the U.S.A.

I asked him if I could see the goals, and he said that his blogging friend Kelly in Canada had found some video of them…

Oh dear !… I’m going back to my wheel for a bit. Much more exciting !

Stay safe everybody !
